I recently spent several hours in a Starbucks in NYC working between meetings. Along the way, I kept one ear out to other conversations and activities.
Maybe I'm a newbie, but it was amazing how much "business" gets done at Starbucks.
Seems to me that this would be a good magazine article for Wired or similar magazine: "A Day in the Life of a Starbucks: business life in the 3rd space."
Allen,
You might enjoy this talk Steven Johnson gave at Ted last year.
Very interesting theory weaving coffee, community and innovation!

Have you had a chance to read "Onward" yet? I don't usually read business books, but I definitely enjoyed it!
